Red roses – “I love you, respect and courage

 

Red rosebuds – pure and lovely

 

White roses –   “You’re heavenly,” reverence and humility, innocence and purity, “I’m worthy of you” and secrecy and silence

 

White rosebuds – girlhood or “too young to love”

 

Blue roses – inner feelings of love at first sight, royal blood, regal majesty and splendor, mystery, attaining the impossible or never ending quest for the impossible

 

Lilac or Lavender roses – love at first sight or enchantment

 

Deep pink roses – gratitude and appreciation

 

Pink roses – grace and gentility

 

Light pink – admiration and sympathy

 

Yellow roses – joy and gladness or“try to care”

 

Coral or orange roses – enthusiasm and desire

 

Deep burgundy rose – “unconscious beauty”

 

Pale colors – sociability and friendship

 

Dead roses – “It’s over” or “you made no impression”

 

Hybrid tea roses – “I’ll remember you always”

 

Color Combination

Red and white roses, or white roses with red edges – unity or an engagement

 

Red and yellow – (blends) jovial and happy feelings and celebration

 

White and yellow roses - harmony
